Neo noirs - Got to love 'em

Recently I spent a weekend seeing a bunch of decade-old thrillers, Seven, Mulholland Drive
and Usual Suspects. I really like the suspense types, the eerie and gloomy black and white
scenes of Seven, the corker twist in the last 5 minutes of the Usual suspects and the convoluted
story of Mulholland drive where the viewer is fed with some random pieces of info that only make sense at the very end.

Too bad that these movies are too clever for their own good(read $$$), with a general audience
likely to be drawn out more to conventional romantic flicks like Titatic, dazzlying special effects like The Matrix or a great story told like the LOTR. The latter bunch adhering to the well tried and tested linear storyline. After all KISS works!
